As Memorial Day approaches, Coffee & Connections is humbled to stand beside those who have served, and to recognize the deep impact their commitment has had on our freedoms and communities.
Portraits of Service is more than an event—it’s a reflection of gratitude.
It’s our way of saying thank you to the heroes among us by offering connection, recognition, and support as they navigate life beyond the uniform. From providing professional headshots to fostering meaningful conversations and career-building moments, we aim to spotlight the stories that deserve to be heard.

MIL2CIV
Mil2Civ.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families in the Permian Basin region of Texas. Recognizing a gap in veteran-specific services, Mil2Civ offers assistance during times of crisis, aiming to improve quality of life, restore hope, and reconnect veterans with a supportive community reminiscent of their military experience.
The organization's programs include:
- Outdoor Rehabilitation: Free programs for service members dealing with combat-related injuries, focusing on PTSD, TBI, and separation anxiety, to help restore camaraderie through nature-based activities
- Emergency Funds: Financial assistance for veterans and their families facing crises, covering expenses such as funeral costs, utilities, rent, car repairs, and medical bills.
- Community Connections: Events and gatherings that link veterans with local service providers and foster a sense of belonging.
Eligibility for assistance requires military service or being an immediate family member of a veteran, with residency in the Permian Basin or surrounding areas. Applications are reviewed and decisions made within 24 hours .mil2civ.org
